Testimonials

The author has done it again! Nile's Surprise Visit is a perfectly crafted literary piece that will have you beaming with Joy as you follow Niles through his many milestones and adventures. I loved how the author uses real-life scenarios that many kids experience to reach her audience. The positivity of the story will definitely uplift kids and parents as well. I look forward to reading Niles’s next adventure!"

This recent installment of Niles’ adventures, is layered with a check in of Niles’ growth and learning milestones, as well as lessons in being a good neighbor and in becoming a responsible citizen. As this beautiful Black boy’s journey continues, the gifting of his first pet makes becoming a veterinarian an eminent possibility still... he’s so awesome that he can truly be anything he wants; he just needs the exposure.

The sequel to Niles’s Surprise Discovery also reveals that Niles has an involved father; this warmed my heart to know that he has someone to model himself after. His father is a career military man and spends his time helping and giving to people. So, of course when Niles has the opportunity to help someone in need, he neatly packs up his clothes which are too small and gives them away. Kids mirror what they see happening around them, and this proves that point so beautifully."

Ginger's second literary offering Niles's Surprise Visit offers love, clarity and direction. It affirms how boys view their fathers and it dispels the notion that we have seen in communities of color that fathers are often absent. I appreciated seeing Niles’s growth, both physically and emotionally. I loved the moments of sharing, especially showing him demonstrating having learned his colors in Spanish. Niles’s Surprise Visit is just that, a welcomed surprise to her audience and beyond- demonstrating that little black and brown children aren't linear in their experiences and development. Ginger took into heavy consideration those societal variables that brings this story to life. She even gave a huge nod to the Armed Forces, of which many parents work for and often are separated from their families. Niles's Surprise Visit should be a tool in support of these unique families who experience and sacrifice a lot with their service. I am awfully proud of my dear friend, client and fellow Temple Owl!"
